For job seekers · Overview Working abroad

Working in Saudi Arabia.

More Indians work in Saudi Arabia than in any other Gulf country. Skilled and semi-skilled roles run across construction, facilities, hospitality, manufacturing and oil and gas support.

To take up a job in Saudi Arabia from India you need an offer from a Saudi employer, a contract you have read and understood, a medical test at an approved centre, an employer-sponsored work visa, and emigration clearance if your passport is ECR. Nasrec prepares each step with you and tells you what happens next.

  • The offer comes from the employer, and you interview with them, usually on video.
  • Your contract sets out the role, hours, rest days, leave and accommodation before you agree to anything.
  • The medical test is booked at an approved centre through the Wafid (GAMCA) system.
  • An ECR passport means emigration clearance through the eMigrate system before you travel.
  • Salaries are paid through the official Musaned channel, so every payment leaves a record.

The largest Gulf market for Indian workers.

What to expect, in plain words.

How the job is offered

A Saudi employer raises the requirement, interviews you, and issues a written offer. We confirm the role, the hours, the rest day and what is included, such as accommodation and transport, before you agree to anything.

Your salary is paid digitally

Salaries are paid through the official Musaned channel and reported to the labour authority, so there is a record of every payment, every month.

Before you fly

An ECR passport needs emigration clearance through eMigrate. You also need the Wafid (GAMCA) medical and the PBBY insurance cover. We handle each of these with you.

How long it usually takes

Once you are selected and your documents are in order, the medical, visa and emigration steps usually take a few weeks. The exact time depends on the role and how quickly documents come back.

Your rights

What protects you.

  • A written contract that you read and understand before you sign
  • Your passport stays yours. Keeping it from you is against the law
  • A paid weekly rest day, and daily rest for domestic workers
  • End-of-service pay when your contract ends
If you ever need help

Who to call, from day one.

  • The Indian Embassy or Consulate in the country you work in. The Ministry of External Affairs publishes every mission and its contact details.
  • MADAD, the Government of India's online portal for consular help for Indians abroad.
  • The helpline published on the eMigrate portal, for emigration questions from India.
  • Nasrec. Someone on our team knows your name and your case, and we keep checking in after you land.

You can reach Nasrec on +91 99468 07777 at any point in your journey. We brief you on all of this before you fly.
